Whilst the woodland is subject to Tree Protection Orders there may be an opportunity for it to be incorporated within residential development as amenity. Land west of the property has been earmarked in the draft Local Plan (Dec 2018) for 300 dwellings. Investigations and discussions with the planning authority were carried out around 4 years ago to ascertain potential for gaining consent within the poorest area of woodland which would provide capital to fund management of the woodland and for the public to enjoy access.
